Is Mary Budden Estate popular amongst familie?

Yes, Mary Budden Estate is popular amongst guests looking for family stays.

Is the estate senior citizen and differently abled friendly?

Both senior citizens and differently abled citizens are welcome at Mary Budden Estate. A walking stick is recommended. Unfortunately, we are not a wheel chair friendly property.

Is it safe to travel with a toddler?

The estate is safe for all. Please bear in mind that the estate is at a height of 7000 feet above mean sea level and your commute will include driving through hilly terrain.

How far is the parking area from the accommodation?

The parking area is about 200 meters away from the accommodation. It can accommodate 3 vehicles. The rest can be parked at the Dak Bungalow, which is 300 meters from the accommodation.

How can I pay for destination dining?

The destination dining has to be booked in advance and hence is a pre-paid experience.

Do you have accommodation for drivers?

The guest may book a separate lodge for drivers and support staff. Alternatively, they can arrange for them to stay at the KMVN tourist guest house (Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam).

Where is the nearest grocery / provision store?

The nearest grocery / provision store is located at Almora, which is approximately 35 kms away.

Can we play loud music till late night?

Soft music can be played in the room, however we do not encourage loud music.

Can we place an extra bed?

All our lodges and cottage can accommodate an extra bed. Yes, we do provide with extra bedding at an additional cost.

Do you have Wi-fi?

We have wi-fi connection at the estate; however, the network fluctuates due to the remote location.

How is the mobile connectivity at the estate?

Given the location, most service providers' network can be patchy. BSNL and Jio mobile networks work best at the estate.

Is there fan or air-conditioning in the rooms?

Considering the location and the weather conditions, there is no requirement of fan or conditioned air.

Are there heaters in the rooms?

Yes, we do have wooden fire heaters in all the rooms.

Do you have an electric kettle in the room?

We are solar powered and hence an electric kettle can not be used at the estate.

Can we use hair dryer and electric shaver?

We are solar powered and hence a hair dryer or electric shaver can not be used at the estate.

Do you have all day hot water supply?

Our team will be happy to assist you with hot water. Please give them 15 minutes notice, as there are no electric geysers at the estate.

Which brand of toiletries are provided at the estate?

Ayca, a natural, paraben-free bath and wellness brand.

How often is the bedroom linen changed?

As a sustainable and environment friendly practice, we change the linen once in 3 days. However, we will be happy to change it upon request.

Is there a spa at the estate?

We do not have a spa at the premises.

What experiences are offered at the estate?

We offer our guests an array of culinary, along with curated excursions and experiences at the estate.

What are the entertainment options for children at the estate?

The estate's sylvan surroundings are a great opportunity for children to disconnect from screens and mobile devices. Beyond that, we have indoor board games available for kid’s entertainment.

Pets

Is the estate pet friendly? Does it involve additional charges?

We are currently unable to host pets, as per the regulations of Binsar Wildlife Sancturary.

Do you have dogs at the estate?

We have 4 dogs at our estate.

Health and Safety

Do you keep general medicines and a first aid kit at
the estate?

Yes, general medicines for fever / pain reliever / headache are always available at the estate. We also have a first aid kit with sterilised cotton, crepe bandage and sprays.

Is there a medical facility close by?

The closest healthcare facility a primary care hospital at Basoli, which is about a 75 mins drive from the estate.

What is the current policy on tourists entering the state
of Uttarakhand?

To enter Uttarakhand, an RT PCR test is mandatory. An e-pass would be required to enter the Binsar wildlife sanctuary. Download here.

What is the route from Delhi?

By Road : The drive from New Delhi to Mary Budden Estate takes approximately 10 hours. You can alternatively halt at Jim Corbett, followed by a 05 hours drive to the estate.

By Rail : You can take a direct train from Delhi to Kathgodam followed by a 05 hours drive to t.

By Air : Pantnagar Airport is located in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand, which is 5.5 hours drive from the estate. There is a direct flight that operates from Delhi to Pantnagar.

What is the route from Mumbai?

By Air : Indigo flies from Mumbai to Pantnagar with a halt at New Delhi, There are no direct flights from Mumbai to Pantnagar.

What is the route from Kathgodam?

By Road : Kathgodam to Mary Budden Estate is a 4.5 hours drive.

What is the route from Pantnagar

By Road : Mary Budden Estate is a 5.5 hours drive from Pantnagar

By Air : From Pantnagar, a private chopper to Dinapani, Almora followed by a 01 hour 30 minutes’ drive to Mary Budden Estate.

What is the route from Kathgodam?

By Road : Kathgodam to Mary Budden Estate is a 4.5 hours drive

Is there an entry fee at the sanctuary gate?

One-time charge of INR 150 per person (for Indians), INR 600 per person (for foreign nationals) and INR 250 per car is to be paid.

What is the advisable time to enter the sanctuary gate?

The sanctuary gates close at 6 pm and its advisable to be at the gate prior to 6 pm.

How long is the drive from Jim Corbett Park to
Mary Budden Estate?

The estate is approximately 155 kms from the Jim Corbett Park. The drive via Nainital Road and NH 109 takes approximately 6 hours.

How far is the estate from The Kumaon hotel?

We are approximately 20 kms away from The Kumaon and it is approximately an hour long.

Climate / Weather

What's the weather like through out the year?

In Binsar, the Summers are great for trekking and sightseeing, whereas while Winters are great for experiencing snowfall. The best time to visit Binsar would be from October to mid-July.

Food & Beverages

Do you provide gluten free, dairy free & vegan
food options?

Yes, we can organize gluten free, dairy free & vegan food. The preference must be shared with us in advance.

Can you organize Jain meals for us?

Our kitchen team will be happy to organize a Jain meal for you. The preference must be shared with us in advance.

Do you allow personal chefs in the kitchen?

We do not allow outside staff to access the estate kitchen. Booking the entire estate is a pre-requisite for complete access to our kitchen.

What are the dining options?

Do you have a bar?

We do not have a bar as serving alcohol is prohibited inside a wildlife sanctuary. However, the guests are free to carry beverages of their own choice.

Do you set-up a bonfire every day?

Yes, we organize a bonfire every evening from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. During the bonfire, we serve two appetizers (veg & non-veg) along with chips and dips as per the weekly menu. We also serve tea/coffee and herbal broth as per the guests' request.
