As with all our properties, we place great emphasis on offering our guests an experience to remember. At the Mary Budden Estate, our experiential relationship with food is of great importance. Here, Himalayan and locally produced culinary offerings are curated with both interest and expertise. Our menus are seasonal and though drawn from local traditions carry a modern inflection. Our chefs consciously prepare menus using ingredients from the best and freshest harvest available, a farm to table experience that ensures all produce is fresh, crisp and juicy.
Guests at the Mary Budden Estate enjoy meals at no extra cost, within the serene settings of the property. Included in the room tariff are daily ‘set’ menus and their unique locations. Breakfast and lunch are served at Serena's Garden. High-tea and the community Barbecue is at The Eventide Coven. Dinner is served across various bespoke venues located in the confines of the Estate.
Microgreens, rosemary, nettle are grown on the property. We forage thyme, lemongrass, oregano & rhododendron from the wild.
We source vegetables like pahadi lemon, onion, lettuce, spinach & garlic from neighbouring villages.
We use locally available pine charcoal made by local women, instead of wood based coal.
Our team is hired locally where possible, across kitchen, service, housekeeping & landscaping. Our gardener is also a storyteller & a flutist.
