In 1840, Henry Ramsay was appointed Assistant Commissioner of Kumaon. A man, keenly observant and sagacious, of cool, clear judgment and strong will, tempered by Scotch caution with a single-hearted desire for the wellbeing and prosperity of the people over whom he was set in authority, he was trusted by them and his official superiors alike. This road is in tribute!
On a beautiful morning of your choice, you have the opportunity to go to Mayolikhan, one of the most beautiful trails in the Binsar forest. Mayolikhan meanders, through cedars and oaks, through little waterfalls and rock outcrops, and eventually ends in a hidden village. It couldn’t be more picturesque. We are happy to organize a picnic for you in sylvan surroundings.
